Founding Farmers Co. Catering & Events is a full service catering company serving Washington, DC, Maryland, Northern Virginia, and Greater Philadelphia.
We specialize in bringing people together and making every celebration delicious and memorable. We are majority owned by American family farmers, which means at our core we are committed to using ingredients from farmers we know and trust and taking care of the planet and everyone on it.
With years of experience rooted in restaurant hospitality operating some of the Nation’s most popular restaurants – Founding Farmers – we have the expertise and bandwidth to help you create events that are easy, frictionless, and fun to plan from start to finish.
Our Roots
Founding Farmers Co. Catering & Events began the way the best businesses often do: not from a plan, but with a request. Guests who loved what we served at Founding Farmers kept asking for the same experience at their own table — their offices, their homes, and on their biggest days. And we said yes.
Backed by decades of hospitality experience operating some of the DMV's most beloved restaurants, we started small: office lunches, breakfast meetings, the occasional baby shower. Then graduation parties. Bar and Bat Mitzvahs. Weddings. Soon, we were building menus for clients like Bisnow, Comstock, and the Washington Nationals – events with more people and higher stakes but always centered around our scratch-made, thoughtfully sourced food and drink.
As our clients’ needs grew, so did we — expanding beyond just the food into experiential design. Today, Founding Farmers Co. Catering & Events is a fully independent, full service catering and events company.
But growth has never been the whole point. We are a mission-driven company majority owned by American family farmers — including the members of the North Dakota Farmers Union — which means when you work with our catering and events team, you're doing more than just feeding a room. You’re putting a larger share of the food dollar back into farmers’ hands. You’re also helping to influence the buying decisions of others in our industry and support the work to unbundle the industrial supply chain. And you’re helping us continue to operate a more sustainable business. This shows up in our daily decisions from sourcing our ingredients to working to reduce packaging.
